I used to lie in bed at night replaying the day, wondering why I couldn't just be the mom I wanted to be. I looked like I had it together. But inside? I was dysregulated, overstimulated, and running on fumes.

I thought I was failing. Turns out, my nervous system was stuck in survival mode.

As a Black woman and mother, I carried layers most people don't see: the generational pressure to be strong, the hypervigilance learned in childhood, the cultural expectation to push through no matter what.

When I discovered nervous system regulation, everything shifted. Not overnight. Not perfectly. But steadily. I learned to recognize my body's signals. I learned that rest isn't weakness. I learned that I could be a present mother without losing myself. Now I guide other Black mothers through this same journey—not with generic advice, but with tools that honor our specific reality. This is more than coaching. This is coming home to yourself.
